Damsels in denims

Let’s start with basics for western wear which is incomplete without a good pair of jeans. Whether you are in India or abroad, jeans have become a daily necessity and work both formal and informally.
So ladies before you go shopping first arm yourself with loads of patience, research shows women try more than 5 pairs of jeans before actually finding one that actually fits right in all the right places.
There are lot of articles telling you which works on what body type but I have still never been able to find one which accurately describes what could work for me.So am not going to bore you with what body type should try what but just give you some tips in general when you go denim shopping :
1. Priority should be on the rise as that is what dominates the fit and structure. Curvy women should opt for mid rise. Low rise accentuates your tummy area and high rise covers it weirdly. If you are petite low rise are your best bets as they give you more curves.
2. Style of jeans i.e. skinny, jeggings, flare, bootcut , relaxed, straight leg, boyfriend, jeggings, crops . I have realized skinny and bootcut work most as they add more length and give a more polished look ( straight could work as well). Jeggings can work even with kurtis. Relaxed fits can add more weight as they have a looser fit. I am also a huge fan of crop jeans especially for the summers and rains and they look fun and casual. ( Petite women should opt for crops too as it makes you look longer).
3. Wash meaning colour and overall look. I am strong believer of having atleast one amazing fitting dark washed jeans, one light and one coloured or black pair. I find that these give you more wearability out of them as they can be dressy or casual.
4. Decor : now there are embroidered, distressed and even embellished jeans. They are a personal choice ( am not a fan). But some women can work them in their wardrobe depending on occasion or style they are going for.
These tips are always on my mind while going shopping and normally have always worked for me . But for some more tips you can refer to some denim gyan.
